Outdoors:
Beardies need opportunities to run. A fenced yard is ideal and recommended. Beardies should not be left free to run the neighborhood. Off leash heeling is great training but dogs will be dogs. Fences and leashes keep your dog safe and out of trouble with neighbors and other animals.
Indoors:
One beardie can thrive well in any kind of house as long as he gets adequate outdoor exercise. Crates and Xpens will make your life easier as a dog owner if you start training early so that your Beardie sees it as a safe and relaxing place when you can't be with her. Early crate training also helps with travel as your dog with have learned that his crate is a safe place to sleep, relax, and have a meal.
